What is W31rd Squared?
W31rd Squared is the two of us, James and Naketa, two genuine weirdos who fully embrace being different. The original idea started on September 20, 2020, and later that same year we launched our apparel line, which began with a focus on reflective and holographic designs on clothing. What started as a creative brand has grown into something much bigger.
Today, W31rd Squared is about using art, ideas, and honest expression to spread peace, love, unity, and respect. Through our designs, our words, and the projects we build, we are trying to create something that reaches beyond clothing. The Great Synchronization was our starting point, the first step in a much bigger long-term vision centered around peace, connection, and meaningful change. From there, we’re continuing to build with weekly syncs, new projects, and bigger ideas already in motion.
James Kreis
I’m James Kreis, a thinker at heart with a deep love for critical thinking, perspective, and honest conversation. I grew up in rural Minnesota before moving to the cities, and that contrast shaped a lot of how I see the world. I’m an artist, I draw, I write, and lately I’ve spent a lot of time speaking about change, peace, and the choices that shape both. I believe real change starts with us, one small decision at a time.
For the last year and a half, I’ve been on a serious path of self-discovery, researching everything from physics, psychology, and sociology to quantum mechanics and cosmology. I like to look at things from multiple angles, not to overcomplicate them, but to better understand who we are and how we move forward. I care about grounded takes, real perspective, and asking better questions, because I believe that understanding ourselves and each other is where meaningful change begins.
Naketa Willis
Naketa Willis was born and raised in Minnesota and has been creative for as long as she can remember. With a degree in graphic design, she brings both skill and instinct to the work, with a love for creativity that spans photography, music, design, and visual expression as a whole. She has a deep appreciation for techno and electronic music, and through travel and festivals, she’s built a perspective that continues to influence her creative voice.
She’s one of the kindest people you could meet, with a big heart and an incredible eye for detail. Naketa serves as the creative lead for much of what we do, helping bring ideas to life and making sure the vision feels thoughtful, polished, and true to who we are.
